A renovated farmhouse in the Bresse sector, with equestrian facilities in 1 hectare of land, between Lyon and Geneva, in a rural setting.
This property is located in the part of the Bresse sector situated in the Burgundy region, in a triangle formed by Lyon, Dijon and Geneva, less than 2 hours from each of these cities. Essential everyday shops and services can be found in a neighbouring village just several minutes away by car. The surrounding landscape between the foothills of the Jura to the east and banks of the River Saône to the west is made up of plains dotted with waterways as well as lakes and is home to a scattering of rural dwellings, mainly made of brick and wood, though sometimes white stone, topped by tall roofs. Louhans is 20 minutes away while Chalon-sur-Saône can be reached in 30 minutes.
The property, which can be reached via a country road, stands amongst fields, away from the village, far from any disturbance and is not overlooked. The main residence is surrounded by an approximately 2,000-m² garden while the equestrian facilities made up of stables, a dressage area and a paddock occupy the remainder of the 1 hectare of grounds.
The Bresse sector farmIt is made of brick and half-timbering, in keeping with the local rural architectural traditions. Its main facade is comprised of red bricks set in a framework of exposed beams and half-timbering. To the west, shallower sloped overhanging eaves supported by wooden studs form a covered gallery, protecting the walls and creating a transitional space between the residence's interior and the adjoining patio. The roof is made of red/orange interlocking tiles. The steeper main slope of the roof is punctuated by gabled dormers with triangular pediments whose structure is made of brick and wood, like the rest of the edifice.
