Hacienda San Jose Pachul - Spa/retreat on the way to the beach

a completely upgraded old henequen hacienda just 40 min from downtown merida and 30 min from sisal, totally enclosed with maya stone walls, abundant wildlife - even eight domesticated peacocks wandering the patios!
currently a small ayuravedic treatment spa with two copper tubs for herbal soaks and a serene treatment room, big yoga palapa and outdoor kitchen. there are five furnished traditional maya palm-thatched houses (recently restored original maya worker's houses from the hacienda days) each with king bed, private bath and patio, suitable for guests.
main building remodeled in 2004 includes much original old rock construction with very high ceilings, now a huge professional kitchen with enormous pantry, bar and living rooms plus a very big suite with bath and private terrace. on either side, private terraces allow you to lunch outside or enjoy a drink in the shade.
next door, an independent building with, downstairs, his and hers pool baths, bedroom and bath, staff toilet and a separate suite with bath. upstairs, a large bedroom with terrace overlooking the pool and surrounding jungle.
the chukum-finished filtered pool is large enough to swim laps and filled from one of the hacienda's wells with cool fresh (and free) water from the hidden cenotes. the hacienda has a large transformer roughly 3.5 years old and a semi-private electricity line from the main road.
a new one bedroom, one bath manager's house is under construction and included in the sale. it has a living/dining room, kitchen and surrounding terrace with swim-corridor. much of the property is kept as a jungle preserve; the land immediately around the hacienda buildings is planted with banana, pomegranate, exotic plants, amongst which you can find the remains of other unremodeled maya houses, the old "calabozo"...... the entrance to the hacienda has been kept hidden and private by design. this is a magical property!
the owners have priced the properte at 38,000,000 pesos. the dollar price will adjust according the the bank rate of exchange at closing.
