A modern, single-storey, around 270-m² house in 4,200-m² garden, between Bandol et La Ciotat, in a 70-hectare private estate by the seaside.
This property is located in the western reaches of the Var area, near the seaside and to the south of the Sainte-Baume regional natural park. Saint-Cyr-sur-Mer has been home to settlers since prehistoric times. The Greeks then colonised it and introduced vine-growing to the local population. Today, it is still a farming and winemaking town but also a renowned seaside resort, thanks to its large Plage des Lecques beach and secluded coves. To the very south of the municipality, the Port d'Alon private estate faces the sea and stretches over 70 hectares of luxuriant nature including woods of Aleppo pines. The guarded and secure estate is made up of 260 properties that enjoy quality facilities - a large swimming pool, tennis courts, pétanque pitches and a crazy golf course - as well as access to a cove. The motorway is less than 10 minutes away, while TER regional express trains connect with the TGV high-speed train stations in Toulon or Marseille, respectively 20 and 45 minutes away. Flights from the Toulon-Hyères and Marseille-Provence airports connect the area with the French capital and destinations abroad.
A small road on the hillside, from which the sea can be seen at all times, climbs several kilometres between the pine trees to a fence marking the entrance to the estate. A large drive leads to the tarmacked secondary access lanes that criss-cross the estate, in the middle of which, at the end of a several dozen metre long cul-de-sac and behind an automatic gate, stands the property and its modern architecture. It is made up of a virtually flat, entirely enclosed, more than 4,200-m² trapezoid shaped garden. The house is topped with single-sloped or gabled roofs made of barrel tiles and with windows facing east and west. A double garage set perpendicularly and adjacent to the northern elevation stands next to a parking area in front of the entrance to the house, which is protected by an awning. A pétanque pitch in the shade of tall pines can be found in the western reaches of the garden, which is landscaped and carefully maintained.
The houseThis single-storey, south-facing building was built in 1986 and has a surface of approximately 271 m². Its light-coloured rendered or stone-built elevations are punctuated by plenty of windows and doors, pointing to a bright interior. A vast, almost 250-m² patio, part of which is covered and boasts a barbecue, stands in front of the house's southern facade. Beyond it stands the uniquely shaped infinity pool, around which there is a lawned area.
The garden-level floor
The entrance to the house is via the northern elevation, through a double-leaf door that opens into a hall, into which light streams from a glazed central patio, around which a vast reception room stands, made up of a lounge space and a dining area. The lounge, which boasts a raised fireplace on its eastern wall, is topped by a sloped ceiling with a height of approximately 5 metres and exposed beams painted white, like the walls. The approximately 62-m² room extends into a dining area and is paved with Burgundy stone slabs. Light pours in through two large sliding windows that open onto the patio to the south, further enhancing the brightness. A functional kitchen with polished concrete flooring opens onto the dining area to the west as well as a storeroom. Light streams in through two windows as well as French windows leading to the patio and barbecue. On the other side, an approximately 20-m² carpeted office with windows to the south and east extends from the lounge slightly below. The entrance hall also leads to two sleeping areas as well as a guests' lavatory, a utility room and a staircase to the mezzanine.
