An upper-middle-class 19th-century house and former stagecoach stopover, in a Henry II style on a 650m² plot, nestled in France's Pays de Bray province, 100 kilometres north of Paris.
The house stands a short walk away from shops, schools, weekly markets, a cinema and amenities. The lush countryside of northern France's Pays de Bray province offers walking trails, horse-riding tracks and cycle paths. The town of Forges-les-Eaux, with its hypermarket and spa, is 20 kilometres away. Paris is 100 kilometres away, the city of Rouen 49 kilometres away and Beauvais international airport only 30 kilometres from the property. You can reach Paris in two hours by rail. From a train station only 500 metres away, you can get to the French capital by rail via the town of Gisors, 20 kilometres away.
You enter the property straight from the road or via a garage on the left-hand side of the edifice. A walled garden lies behind the house. In the middle of this garden, there is a pond with water lilies. On the right, there is a little annexe and, on the left, the garage.

The houseThe dwelling is a former stagecoach stopover. It has a basement, a ground floor, a first floor and a second floor in the roof space. It has a base of stone and flint and elevations of red brick with windows set in surrounds of pale stone. An arched doorway leads inside.
Two brick chimney stacks rise up from the slate roof, which has dormers with curved pediments. The first floor has two-leaf windows, whereas the ground floor has single-leaf windows. The first floor also features a balcony with a wrought-iron balustrade in the middle of the facade. Basement windows of wrought iron bring natural light inside the basement. The house offers four bedrooms, two bathrooms, large reception rooms, a kitchen and a second floor that could be converted.

The ground floor
A double door, glazed, fitted with a wrought-iron grate and set in an arched doorway, leads into a spacious dual-aspect hallway that leads out to the garden at the back. A staircase winds upstairs with a wooden handrail and wooden steps. The balustrade is made of wrought iron. These stairs lead up to the first floor. To the left of the hallway, there is a reception room made up of two open lounge spaces. The decor here is original. The reception room features two fireplaces and ceilings with ceiling roses, mouldings and a ceiling painting in one of the two spaces. To the right of the hallway, there is a kitchen and an adjoining dining room. A corridor with dado panelling connects to a room with cupboards closed with tall wooden doors and to a shower room with a lavatory. A long room with a mezzanine completes the ground floor. This dual-aspect room can be reached from outside. It leads to the conservatory and to the garden. It could be turned into a self-contained studio apartment. Oak chevron parquet extends across the rooms on the ground floor. The hallway floor is adorned with cement tiles. There are cast-iron radiators sculpted with cat ears.

The first floor
A landing connects to a corridor, which connects to three bedrooms. Two of these bedrooms lie on the garden side. One of them has a storage space. There is also a lounge, a separate lavatory and a bathroom with a shower. The bedrooms have fireplaces. Wood strip flooring extends across the rooms. Mouldings embellish the ceilings. Each room also has in-built storage spaces, closed with tall wooden doors.

The second floor
The second floor has a corridor, which, on the street side, leads to a bedroom with a platform in an alcove that demarcates the sleeping space. On the other side of the corridor, there is an office and storage space. These two rooms and the loft space, which is being renovated, await a new purpose. Sprung wood flooring or pitch-pine strip flooring extends across this top level.
