An authentic 18th-century manor house with 4 hectares of grounds in a village within the Chalosse region, in the south of the Landes department, 45 minutes from the ocean.
Forty-five minutes from Hossegor, a seaside resort in the Landes department, known for its surf spots, the property is located between the Adour and Gave de Pau Rivers and to the south of the Dax-Mont-de-Marsan line, where the landscape of the Chalosse region, with its many valleys and fertile pastures, is noticeably different from the coastal Landes countryside. In addition, the A64 motorway provides easy access to both Toulouse and the Atlantic coast.
With its origins harking back to the Renaissance and refurbished many times over the centuries, the property's current group of buildings dates from the 18th century. Lined with protected multi-century trees, a drive leads to the two-storey manor house, which includes two main buildings placed at right angles to one another. Topped with tile hipped roofs, they are cadenced by Renaissance-style small-paned casement windows and flanked by two square towers.
The Manor
The ground floor
With a stone tile floor, the entrance hall's main feature is an ionic-inspired pillar flanked on either side by two stone arches, while a 14th-century staircase provides access to the guestrooms and a portion of the private living quarters, which include three bedrooms and a living room. On one side, double doors framed by massive stone blocks open onto a private living room decorated with 18th-century wood panelling and a fireplace with a moulded chimneybreast, while, on the other side, a sitting room reserved for guests has hardwood floors, wood wall panelling, a fireplace crowned with a moulded chimneybreast and a small-paned picture window. At the end of the hallway, a large private dining room abuts a kitchen with ochre, grey and dark grey floor tiles, a fireplace as well as glass double doors that open onto the grounds nearest the swimming pool. On the other side of the hallway, a large kitchen-dining room, reserved for guests' breakfasts, has a vast floor-to-ceiling height, three-tone oak hardwood floors, two picture windows as well as a set of glass double doors that provide ample sunlight.
The first floor
